Job summary

Norgine in Hengoed, United Kingdom, seeks a Safety, Health and Environmental Officer to develop and continually improve the site’s management systems. You will provide practical advice, monitor compliance and promote a positive safety culture across the site.

You will report to the Head of SHE, Training & Development, and support environmental compliance, ESOS and waste licensing while driving continuous improvements in health, safety and environment.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent is required.
• Experience with UK health and safety legislation and management systems is essential.
• Experience in manufacturing or regulated environments is preferred.
• Ability to lead risk assessments, investigations and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical SHE advice across the site.
• Monitor UK legislation to maintain compliance.
• Lead or support risk assessments and investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Plan and conduct SHE inspections and audits and drive corrective actions.
• Support safe delivery of projects, installations and contractor activities.
• Maintain fire-safety procedures and assist emergency preparedness.
• Analyze SHE data and recommend improvements.
• Deliver SHE communications, toolbox talks and training.
• Support environmental compliance and site reporting including ESOS.
• Deputise for the SHE Manager when required and act as Data Protection Champion.
