Niyaa People is helping a well-established social housing organisation recruit an experienced Shared Ownership Officer in Worcester with travel to surrounding areas. This temporary role is full-time with hybrid flexibility and £26–£30 per hour umbrella pay.

You will manage resales, staircasing, and new-build sales, guiding customers through eligibility and conveyancing steps, liaising with solicitors and agents, and ensuring timely completions.

Qualifications

• Experience managing residential property sales through to completion.
• Experience with shared ownership sales, resales and staircasing.
• Understanding of the residential conveyancing process.
• Experience liaising with solicitors, mortgage advisers and estate agents.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and meet targets.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• IT skills with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Full, current driving licence and business-insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage shared ownership resales, staircasing applications and new-build sales from enquiry through to legal completion.
• Provide advice and guidance to customers throughout the process.
• Carry out eligibility and affordability assessments.
• Liaise with solicitors, mortgage advisers, valuers and estate agents to progress transactions.
• Monitor the sales pipeline and ensure timely completions.
• Support new-build sales launches, open days and promotional activities.
• Ensure transactions comply with legislation, AML requirements and internal procedures.
• Maintain records and update housing and sales management systems.
• Monitor sales performance and collaborate with internal teams.

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation within the social housing sector for an experienced Shared Ownership Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Key Details

• Pay Rate: £26–£30 per hour umbrella
• Contract: Approximately4 months
• Location: Worcester with travel to surrounding areas
• Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with hybrid flexibility

Key Responsibilities of a Shared Ownership Officer

• Manage shared ownership resales, staircasing applications and new-build sales from initial enquiry through to legal completion.
• Provide advice and guidance to customers throughout the shared ownership sales process.
• Carry out eligibility and affordability assessments in line with relevant policies and requirements.
• Liaise with solicitors, mortgage advisers, valuers, estate agents and other stakeholders to progress transactions efficiently.
• Monitor the sales pipeline, identify potential delays and take action to ensure timely completions.
• Support new-build sales launches, open days and promotional activities where required.
• Ensure transactions comply with relevant legislation, anti-money laundering requirements and internal procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and update housing and sales management systems.
• Monitor sales performance, including reservations, completions, resales and staircasing activity.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to support the delivery of affordable homeownership services.

Essential Experience

• Experience managing residential property sales through to completion.
• Previous experience with shared ownership sales, resales and staircasing.
• Understanding of the residential conveyancing process.
• Experience liaising with solicitors, mortgage advisers, estate agents and other stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions, meet deadlines and work towards performance targets.
• Strong communication, organisational and customer service skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working for a housing association or affordable housing provider.
• Knowledge of Homes England Capital Funding Guide requirements.
• Understanding of property valuations relating to staircasing and resales.
