Job summary

NHS Fife is seeking a reliable sewing and linen services assistant to cover a range of duties across Queen Margaret Hospital. You will perform alterations, repairs, labeling, and linen distribution, maintaining high standards for patients and staff.

The role requires competence with sewing equipment and a flexible, customer‑facing approach. Full training is provided; NHS dress code and health and safety rules apply.

Qualifications

• Has practical sewing skills and experience using sewing equipment.
• Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service orientation.
• Organised and able to manage a varied workload.

Responsibilities

• Alter staff uniforms – alterations and repairs.
• Adjust and repair curtains and privacy screens.
• Label and alter patient clothing.
• Occasional upholstery and soft furnishing repairs.
• Exchange, replenish and distribute linen trolleys within wards and departments.
