Job summary

NHS Fife is seeking a motivated Sewing/Linen Assistant to provide sewing and linen services across Queen Margaret Hospital. The role involves alterations of staff uniforms, repairing curtains, labelling patient clothing, and distributing linen trolleys within wards.

You will use flatbed machines, blind hemmers and overlockers, with training provided. A reliable, flexible attitude and good customer service are essential in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Has practical sewing skills and experience using sewing equipment.
• Reliable, flexible and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a positive approach to customer service.
• Organised and able to manage a varied workload.

Responsibilities

• Alteration and repair of staff uniforms.
• Adjustment and repair of curtains and privacy screens.
• Labelling and alteration of patient clothing.
• Occasional upholstery and soft furnishing repairs.
• Exchange, replenishment and distribution of linen trolleys within wards and departments.
