Job summary

Van Elle Limited is seeking a Setting Out Engineer to join the UK’s largest geotechnical and ground engineering contractor. You will set out piles and beams on site, level and survey, liaise with engineers and the construction team, and report progress across multiple sites nationwide.

The role requires practical surveying skills, numeracy, and proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office. A valid CSCS card and willingness to travel are essential.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Numeracy and ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Willingness to travel within the UK."
• Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Experience interpreting data and plans.

Responsibilities

• Setting out piles and beams on site and recording as-built discrepancies.
• Setting out, leveling and surveying on site.
• Liaising between engineers and the construction team to ensure plans are accurate.
• Provide concrete setting out support to the construction team.
• Report site progress to engineering and survey department.
• Coordinate pile/beam layouts with site drawings.
• Manage own time to cover multiple sites and tasks.
• Conduct quality control checks and build records.
