Job summary

Persimmon is recruiting a Setting Out Engineer to lead the setting out of foundations, drives and boundaries on active sites. The role requires proficiency with CAD, GPS equipment and total stations, plus the ability to liaise with management and subcontractors while maintaining daily site diaries and safety records.

The ideal candidate will have an HNC or equivalent, CSCS card, and a valid UK driving licence, with SMSTS preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC qualified in a relevant field.
• Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) preferred.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Setting out foundations, drives, boundaries and ancillary areas.
• Carry out minor site surveying and volumetric calculations.
• Liaise with Site Management & Commercial Teams and monitor sub-contractors work.
• Ensure Health & Safety standards are upheld on site.
• Keep a detailed Daily Site Diary and record As Built information.
• Manage and program own workload to align with site programme.

Job description

The purpose of this role is to undertake the Setting out of House Foundations, Drives and Boundaries whilst liaising with Site Management & Commercial Teams, Ensuring Health & Safety Standards are upheld. What you'll do as a Setting Out Engineer

• Setting out of foundations, drives, boundaries and ancillary areas
• Minor site surveying, volumetric calculations
• Liaison with Site Management & Commercial Teams
• Ensuring Health & Safety Standards are upheld
• Supervise, Check and monitor the progress and quality of sub-contractors work
• Keeping a detailed Daily Site Diary
• Recording As Built information and keeping it well documented. Minimum HNC qualified
• Proficient in the use of CAD is desirable
• Experience or qualifications in surveying/engineering
• Previous experience using Total Stations / Setting out equipment
• Use of GPS equipment is essential
• Ability to manage and program their own workload
• Use their own initiative to ensure works are completed in accordance with the site programme
• Previous experience as a site engineer/trainee in the construction environment
• Current CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is preferred
