Job summary

FBR Construction Recruitment is seeking a qualified Site Setting Out Engineer to cover projects across Hampshire, West Sussex and Wiltshire. You will survey sites, set out deep drainage, roads, and manholes, and work from plans to ensure accuracy.

You\'ll produce as-built drawings, monitor design documentation, and coordinate with architects, engineers and surveyors. A degree or HNC/HND in construction-related studies is required, with strong communication and GPS familiarity.

Qualifications

• Qualified Site Engineer with a Degree or HNC/HND in construction related studies, civil engineering, build or structural.
• Proven experience in site surveying and setting out.
• Strong communication and quality-control skills.

Responsibilities

• Survey sites prior to work commencement.
• Set out main lines for drainage, roads, manholes and 278 works.
• Check plans and drawings for accuracy and feasibility.
• Produce as-built drawings and record progress.
• Communicate with architects, engineers and surveyors.
• Assist with day-to-day site management and reporting.

Job description

Due to successful tender over the past few months and forward order books our groundwork's client has decided to appoint a full time site setting out engineer to cover projects around the Hampshire, West Sussex and Wiltshire regions. Ideally you are a qualified Site Engineer educated with either a Degree or HNC/HND in construction related studies, civil engineering, build or structural. Projects tend to range from six to ten live projects mainly with residential and commercial builds.

Typical duties include;

• surveying sites prior to work commencement.
• surveying installed works.
• setting out deep drainage, roads, manholes, 278 works.
• check plans/drawings.
• check quantities for accuracy of calculations.
• manage, monitor and interpret design documentation
• building 3d models for GPS system.
• produce as-built drawings.
• communicate with architects, engineers and surveyors.
• prepare progress reports and assist with day to day site management.
• sort out any technical issues with contracts manager.
• working knowledge of machine assist technology (GPS) would be a distinct advantage.
• good written and verbal communication.
