Job summary

Insite International are currently recruiting an experienced Setting Out Engineer with PTS to work on a major railway embankment stabilisation project in West Crewkerne, Somerset.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out a range of earthworks and civil engineering elements, including soil nails on a slope, haul roads, working platforms, drainage and general site surveying duties.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer.
• Strong experience within civil engineering / earthworks.
• Experience setting out earthworks and associated infrastructure.
• Valid PTS certification preferred.
• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work accurately and independently on site.

Responsibilities

• Set out soil nails on a slope and other earthworks.
• Set out earthworks, haul roads, working platforms and drainage.
• Perform general site setting out and surveying duties.

• Duration: Until February 2027
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm
• Weekends: Approximately 4 weekend shifts available
• Rate: £400-£450 per day
• Sector: Rail / Civil Engineering

About the Role

Insite International are currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer with PTS to work on a major railway embankment stabilisation project in West Crewkerne, Somerset. The project involves the stabilisation of a railway embankment following a historic slope slip, with extensive earthworks and associated ground engineering works being undertaken to secure and strengthen the bank.

• General site setting out and surveying duties

Our client is able to fully sponsor candidates through the PTS process, subject to successful completion of a medical and Drug & Alcohol (D&A) test. Sub-sponsorship is also available for suitable candidates.
