Job summary

Changing Lives is hiring Sessional Support Workers across County Durham to coach and support people facing homelessness and related challenges. You will work within our housing and homelessness services, providing day-to-day assistance and empowering clients to pursue a brighter future.

You will have access to our training programme, a single point of contact for support, and regular supervision. Roles are offered across multiple projects with opportunities to apply for vacancies, including

Qualifications

• Experience in social care or supporting vulnerable adults desired.
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for clients.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients on a day-to-day basis to coach, support and empower them to improve their quality of life.
• Provide consistent, respectful support across multiple projects within the housing and homelessness services.
• Engage with the training programme and attend regular supervision with a dedicated contact.

About the Service - Housing & Homelessness Services

A safe home is the solid base from which you build your life. We support people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as providing specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women and young people.

About the Job

Sessional Support Workers are integral to the running of our projects and we are currently recruiting various locations across County Durham

You will work with the people we support on a day-to-day basis; coaching, supporting and empowering them to achieve their hopes and aspirations, focusing on the future and encouraging positive steps to improving their quality of life.

You will have the opportunity to work across multiple projects, learning and developing your skills and experience in what is an extremely rewarding field. This is primarily within our accommodation service.

You will also have the opportunity to apply for all of our vacancies; including internal only roles. You will also have access to our training programme, have a single point of contact for support and receive regular supervision.

The role includes a payment towards holiday pay.
