Job summary

Sessional Placement Support Worker role in the North West with hybrid working and regional travel. Salary is £25,000 pro rata per year and reflects the needs-led support provided to looked-after children and their foster families.

The role involves direct work with children and carers, recording visits, and coordinating with supervising social workers, therapeutic teams and external partners to ensure safety and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Ofsted regulations knowledge and safeguarding best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication with children, carers and professionals
• Self-motivated with a professional, positive attitude
• Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload
• IT proficiency: Word, Excel, Outlook
• Experience using database systems (advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, needs-led support aligned with care plans for children looked after and support to birth children
• Complete direct work with children and foster parents and record visits
• Contribute to stability plans and minimise placement disruption
• Provide direct support to improve wellbeing outcomes; include transport to school and supervision of contact
• Undertake work to support independence and involvement of families
• Plan events for children and families and lead participation and consultation
• Maintain accurate records and share information appropriately
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion
• Adhere to data protection and health & safety policies
• Work in line with organisational values, policies and procedures
• Undertake additional duties as required
