Job summary

Early Years Alliance is seeking freelance assessors to support nationwide delivery of training, apprenticeships and qualifications across England. The role involves delivering high-quality early years training in virtual, on-site or workplace settings, with a focus on up-to-date National Occupational Standards and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

Ideal candidates will hold recognised assessor and teaching qualifications, be comfortable with ICT tools and travel as required.

Qualifications

  • Hold an accepted vocational assessor qualification (A1 or Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement).
  • Hold a teaching qualification (Cert Ed, L3 AET, L4 CET, L5 DET).
  • Be able to travel and have own transport.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training that inspires learners to achieve their objectives and qualifications.
  • Plan and teach effective learning for diverse groups in safe, inclusive environments (virtual, face-to-face, workplaces).
  • Assess with fairness and provide constructive feedback so learners know what to improve.
  • Maintain own occupational CPD annually.
  • Attend update meetings / standardisation / CPD as needed.

Early Years Assessors - Nationwide

The Early Years Alliance is the largest early years membership organisation and voluntary sector provider of quality affordable childcare and education in England. An educational charity, the Alliance represents the interests of over 14,000 member settings who deliver care and learning to over 800,000 families every year.
The Alliance provides early years qualifications and apprenticeships across England and we are looking for freelance assessors to support us to deliver our training programmes.
We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate assessors to deliver our high-quality early years training, including Apprenticeships, standalone qualifications and professional development programmes.
We are looking for experienced assessors with up-to-date knowledge of the National Occupational Standards in Child Care and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, who are keen to ensure our teaching programme remains of the highest quality and continues to produce excellent early years educators.

Main Duties
  • To deliver training that inspires and motivates learners to achieve their personal and career objectives and qualifications.
  • To plan and teach effective learning for diverse groups or individuals in a safe and inclusive environment, including in virtual classrooms, face-to-face and in workplaces.
  • To assess with fairness and integrity, ensuring that learners receive constructive and timely feedback so that they know and understand what they have achieved and what they must do to further improve.
  • Maintaining own occupational CPD annually.
  • Attending update meetings / standardisation / CPD as needed.
Essential Criteria
  • Hold an accepted vocational assessor qualification, e.g. A1 or Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
  • Hold a teaching qualification, e.g. Cert Ed, L3 AET, L4 CET, L5 DET.
  • Be confident supporting learners to develop their English and maths skills, including functional skills.
  • Have own transport and be willing to travel.
  • Be confident in the use of ICT to promote and support teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Be confident using Teams and Microsoft.
  • Be able to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in the subject/vocational area, and aware of the needs and concerns of employers reasonable distances to undertake workplace assessment and monitoring visits.
  • Be flexible and able to work as part of a team.
Hours per week: As and when required
Location: Nationwide - Homebased
