Job summary

Bolton Wanderers Football Club is seeking an Academy Therapist to join the Academy team on a part-time, zero-hours basis. The role includes pitch-side first aid, maintaining equipment, and contributing to fitness testing and medical handovers for youth players.

Candidates should hold an undergraduate degree in Sports Therapy/Physiotherapy, with ITMMiF/ATMMiF qualifications and experience with sports injuries and paediatric care. DBS disclosure applies.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation or Physiotherapy.
• ITMMiF or ATMMiF trauma qualification.
• Experience with sports injuries and/or paediatric patients.
• Ongoing CPD.

Responsibilities

• Provide pitch side first aid cover for fixtures and training.
• Ensure first aid equipment is in date, accessible and transported to venues.
• Attend before, during and after training/games when requested.
• Provide verbal and written handover for injured players to medical staff.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare concerns are raised and dealt with appropriately.
• Assist in fitness and anthropometric testing of Academy players.
• Maintain up-to-date medical records.

Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Academy Therapist to join the Academy team.

This is a part time role on a zero hours basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pitch side first aid cover for fixtures and training.
• Ensure the first aid equipment is in date, accessible and transported to the appropriate venues.
• When requested, attend before, during and after training/games.
• Provide a verbal and written handover for relevant injured players to the appropriate full time and casual medical staff.
• Ensuring that any safeguarding and welfare concerns of all Academy players are raised and dealt with in an appropriate manner.
• To assist in fitness testing and anthropometric testing of all Academy players.
• To maintain up to date medical records.

General Responsibilities:

• Be an ambassador of the Group, providing excellent customer service at all times whilst portraying a professional image.
• Treat all colleagues as customers, ensuring respectful, positive outcomes across all communications.

About The Candidate

Qualifications & Knowledge

• Sports Therapy/Sports Rehabilitation/Physiotherapy Undergraduate Degree.
• Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) or Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF)
• Experience of working with Sports Injuries and/or Paediatric Patients.
• Ongoing CPD.
• Player Focus: Develops and maintains knowledge of the needs of players and focuses energy and efforts on meeting these needs to create the best possible environment for youth development.
• Effective Communication: Communicates confidently and effectively, orally and in writing.
• Team Working: Supports others in the achievement of their objectives.
