Job summary

Optima UK INC Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform planned servicing, preventative maintenance, and fault diagnosis on CNC machine tools at customer sites. This role is field-based in the Greater Manchester area with travel across the North of England and occasionally the UK and Ireland.

We are looking for a time-served engineer with an apprenticeship, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to fault finding.

Qualifications

  • Time-served engineer with an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proactive fault finding and problem solving.
  • Good knowledge of CNC turning and milling machine tools.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Siemens and/or Heidenhain CNC controls is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on CNC machine tools.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs where required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing a professional service at all times.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
  • Complete service documentation accurately and communicate technical information internally in line with company quality processes.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis on a range of CNC machine tools at customer sites. Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on CNC machine tools.

About You
  • Time-served engineer with a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Based within the Greater Manchester area, with the ability to travel to customer sites across the North of England and occasionally throughout the UK and Ireland.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proactive approach to fault finding and problem solving.
  • Good knowledge of CNC turning and milling machine tools.
  • Previous experience servicing or maintaining CNC machine tools is desirable.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Siemens and/or Heidenhain CNC controls is advantageous.
