Job summary

Protyre Autocare in Fareham is seeking an enthusiastic Service Technician to join our growing team. You will service and repair vehicles using the latest diagnostic tools, ensuring high-quality workmanship.

Key requirements include NVQ Level 3 Automotive and a Full UK Driving Licence. You will perform fast-fit tyre work, brakes, exhausts, and suspension tasks, with opportunities for IMI-funded training and career development.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 automotive qualification or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical and fast fit repairs (tyre fitting, brakes, suspension, exhausts).
• Possession of a Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing and repairs to high standards and safety.
• Perform fast-fit tyre fitting with alignment checks.
• Fit brakes, exhausts, batteries, suspension and similar components.
• Carry out MOT repairs and inspections.
• Adhere to vehicle inspection procedures and diagnostic workflows.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues and validate repairs.
• Advise customers on common issues and planned maintenance.
• Observe health and safety regulations at all times.

Must have: Full current UK Driving Licence is required for this role, held for at least 6 months (age restrictions may apply – points or offences may affect your application).

About the role

• Ensure the work completed on each vehicle is carried out safely and to a high standard
• Completing fast fit tyre fitting whilst being able to use an alignment machine and understand the reading and relevant adjustments
• Fitting brakes, exhausts, batteries, suspension and other mechanical products
• Carrying out MOT repairs
• Adherence to company procedures of the vehicle inspection process
• Use relevant diagnostic equipment to ensure diagnostics, testing, and repairs are thorough and to highest quality
• Advise on other issues vehicles display, including common issues vehicles of certain makes and ages develop, and offers timelines for future vehicle repair needs
• Working in a safe manner and always comply with health & safety regulations

About you

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification related to the Automotive industry
• Experienced with mechanical and fast fit repairs which may include tyre fitting, exhausts, brakes, suspension and general servicing repairs to a wide range of vehicles
• The ability to work as part of a busy team in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Experience with diagnostic equipment
• Full UK Driving Licence
