Qualifications

• Experience in service, calibration or electronic testing roles.
• ONC in Electronic Testing or equivalent qualification.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and repair abilities.
• Ability to read circuit diagrams and engineering drawings.
• Experience with soldering and mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, calibrate and test analysers to ISO 9001 standards.

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and innovative manufacturer based in Greater Manchester for a Service Technician to join their growing team on a permanent basis. The Role

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, calibrating, and testing a range of portable combustion and emission analysers, ensuring products meet the highest quality standards before reaching customers.

Working within a quality-driven environment, you will play a key role in maintaining performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, repair, calibrate, and test combustion and emission analysers in line with ISO 9001 standards.
• Prepare, configure, and programme products prior to calibration and testing.
• Complete accurate Calibration Test Reports and technical documentation.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to non-conforming products.
• Read and interpret circuit diagrams and engineering drawings.
• Carry out mechanical assembly and soldering activities where required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Provide support during busy periods, including occasional overtime when required.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a service, calibration, electronic testing, or similar technical role.
• ONC in Electronic Testing or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and repair skills.
• Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams and engineering drawings.
• Experience with soldering, electronic assembly, and mechanical assembly techniques.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Confident using PC hardware and software for product setup, configuration, and testing.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Awareness of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
