Job summary

Workpoint Recruitment Ltd in Stockport is seeking an Equipment Technician to join a busy workshop. You will focus on preparing, calibrating, testing, and maintaining a fleet of environmental monitoring equipment, ensuring readiness for client access.

This role is on-site, 40 hours per week, with flexible start/finish times. Training is provided, onsite parking is available, and a salary in the £27,000–£31,000 range plus discretionary annual bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience following SOPs for assembly or maintenance of equipment.
• Strong numeracy and data entry accuracy.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Office programs.
• Effective written and verbal communication with colleagues and clients.
• Ability to safely perform manual handling up to 25 kg.
• GCSE Maths/Science at 4/C or above or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a person with intelligence and technical aptitude to start or further develop their career as an Equipment Technician.

You will focus on preparing, calibrating, testing, and maintaining the fleet of specialist environmental monitoring equipment.

You will be the main point of contact for colleagues regarding instrument availability, and the preparation of company web applications for client access to instrument data.

You will be working 40 hrs/week at their workshop in Stockport, with flexible start & finish times to suit your circumstances.

Essential skills:

• Practical use of hand-tools
• Practical experience following instructions or guidance for assembly or disassembly of equipment, devices, or systems
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Excel
• Accurately following SOPs for processes such as data entry
• Strong numerical skills
• GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and Science (or equivalent)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and clients
• Capable of safely completing manual handling tasks up to 25kg

Desirable skills:

• An interest in engineering, maths, science, or technology
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. degree, HND, HNC, NVQ, apprenticeship etc)
• Experience working with electronics
• Experience of data analysis
• Experience with gas monitoring devices
• A full, clean, UK driving license
