Job summary

BlueGate Consulting Ltd in Luton is seeking a Service & Repair Engineer to install, commission, repair and maintain equipment at customer sites across the UK and beyond. The role blends field service with hands-on workshop work, delivering safe, high-quality solutions and direct customer contact.

You will diagnose faults, read drawings and contribute to continuous improvement while supporting overhaul, assembly and testing activities.

Qualifications

  • Field service or site-based engineering experience.
  • Experience on large-scale industrial machinery.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience in Power, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas or related industries.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, HNC, Technical Certificate or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Service & Repair Engineer - Luton, Bedfordshire.

A leading engineering manufacturer with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across the Power, Oil & Gas, Nuclear and Industrial sectors is seeking a skilled Service & Repair Engineer to join its growing team in Luton.


This is a diverse role that combines field service work with customer interaction and hands‑on engineering in the workshop. You will have the chance to work on complex equipment while supporting customers throughout the UK and beyond.


As a Service & Repair Engineer, you will install, commission, repair, and maintain equipment at customer sites, acting as the primary point of contact. You will ensure all work is completed safely and to high standards. When not on-site, you will assist with overhaul, repair, assembly, and testing activities in the workshop.


Key Responsibilities:

The successful Service & Repair Engineer will ideally have:


  • Previous field service or site-based engineering experience
