Job Duties
- Under direct supervision, rig up and rig down cementing service equipment at work locations, including spotting cement storage vessels, pre-mixing spacer fluids, identifying additives to mix on-the-fly, rigging-up data monitoring equipment, and planning emergency backup and contingencies.
- Learn to perform pre-job calculations related to pipe capacities, volume/height math, plug landing pressures, absolute volumes, hydrostatic and differential pressure, resulting forces, balanced plugs, bulk cement blending, and calculations involving liquid additives and weighted spacers.
- Complete documentation, reports, and forms related to the cementing services performed.
- Train and guide operator assistants in performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including paperwork and reports.
- Train operator assistants in operating cement pumping and mixing equipment, blenders, liquid additive systems, pumps, data acquisition systems, ADC systems, cement blending, and storage systems.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of products such as cementing blends, spacer fluids, sodium silicate systems, loss circulation additives, casing attachments, float equipment, cementing tools, and squeeze packers.
- Understand basic lab test data like pump time, density, yield, and water ratio.
- Perform job tasks correctly to impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, or operations positively.
- Be aware that errors can be easily measured and contained.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Six months of experience as an Operator Assistant II-Cementing or similar, or completion of relevant competencies.
- Class A CDL required; manual transmission preferred.
- Clean driving record with no recent DWI/DUI convictions or charges.
- Effective communication skills are necessary due to the nature of oil field work.
- Promote safety and environmental awareness, complying with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Ensure adherence to HSE guidelines.
- Participate actively in quality improvement processes.
- Pass job-related tests or meet task guidelines.
