Job summary

Sécheron Hasler Group is hiring a Service Operator for our Manchester site to support testing, servicing and repair of rail equipment. You will set up test gear, record data, and assist with routine maintenance while following quality and safety procedures.

You will work with a team, develop practical skills in electronics and engineering, and participate in training to expand product knowledge and technical capabilities.

Main Tasks

• Setting up test equipment and preparing products for testing and repair.
• Collecting and recording incoming product and repair data on electronic job cards.
• Carrying out routine servicing of safety‑critical rail equipment using hand tools and diagnostic software.
• Supporting the overhaul and repair of electro‑mechanical equipment to a high quality standard.
• Carrying out routine testing using diagnostic and test software.
• Completing repair, test and service documentation accurately and to a high standard.
• Supporting general warehouse activities.
• Carrying out basic administrative tasks related to the service and repair process.
• Following established processes, quality standards and Health & Safety procedures.
• Contributing to continuous improvement by suggesting improvements to processes and working methods.
• An interest in engineering, electronics or technical work.
• Practical and hands‑on approach.
• Good computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and work accurately, particularly when working with safety‑critical equipment.
• Willingness to participate in training to develop technical capabilities and product knowledge.
• Positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team.
