Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking an experienced Service Engineer with a machining/ precision engineering background to install, service and maintain advanced automated manufacturing systems across customer sites in the UK. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical and software issues, carry out planned and reactive maintenance, and train customers.

The role requires hands-on installation and fault-finding in production environments, strong communication, willingness to travel with overnight

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining or servicing capital equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.

Person specification

• A background in machining, CNC, precision engineering, automation or similar.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, or servicing capital equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Confidence working in production/manufacturing environments.
• Excellent communication and customer facing skills.
• A full driving licence, passport, and flexibility to conduct overnight stays in the UK, and skills training in Switzerland (or occasional overseas work).
• Confident communication, with the adaptability to engage at all levels.
• A methodical approach with the ability to work independently, manage your time, and deliver accurate results.

Location

South-East and/or South and West of the M25 (Reading, Slough, Camberley Guildford, etc.) - with regional and national travel as required (5 days on the road per week).

As our Service Engineer, you will join an established and experienced national team. Your first 6 months will be spent training, learning on the job, and shadowing a colleague until you are competent and ready to work solo.
