Swindon Borough Council is seeking a Service Manager for the SEND Information, Advice and Support (SIAS) service. Our SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (SIAS) is looking for a Service Manager to join our team.
SIAS provides information advice and support about education, health and social care for children and young people from 0 to 25 yearswith special educational needs and disabilities, as well as their parents and carers. It is a free, impartial and confidential service.
You will have knowledge of Education and SEND and their relevant statutory frameworks. Your key role will be to both manage a small team and also directly support families.
You will have experience of working with children and families and be confident communicating with adults, young people and children. You will be used to working in partnership with other agencies and confident in communicating with other professionals. You will need to be adaptable, flexible and have the ability to organise your own workload.
The post requires the ability to work at both a strategic and operational level. A qualification in a relevant profession such as social care, education, youth justice, counselling, mediation, health or community work is desirable. Alternatively, extensive experience in the area of SEND is required.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
You will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
