Job summary

Eastern Western Motor Group in Scotland is seeking a proactive Service Department professional to help plan and manage the service operation. You will oversee budgeting, workforce planning, and resource allocation to drive financial targets and customer satisfaction across multiple brands.

With a focus on recruitment, training, and performance management, you will lead a team of service staff, ensure high standards of premises and equipment, and support sales and aftersales initiatives while

• Experience in planning and budgeting within a service department.
• Experience in recruitment and staff training planning.
• Strong understanding of resource and performance management.
• Customer service and sales planning experience.

• Planning & Budgeting: Develop and implement Service Department plans and budgets to meet targets.
• Recruitment & Training: Oversee recruitment processes and training plans for colleagues.
• Resource & Performance Management: Monitor profitability, productivity, and customer service levels.
• Sales & Customer Service: Create and execute sales, merchandising, and advertising plans; handle complaints.
• Operational Efficiency: Conduct team briefings; maintain premises and train staff.

Job description

• Planning & Budgeting: Develop and implement Service Department plans and budgets to meet financial, marketing, and sales targets, including organisational and headcount structures.
• Recruitment & Training: Oversee recruitment processes and ensure annual appraisals and training plans are in place for colleagues to support development and departmental objectives.
• Resource & Performance Management: Maintain control over departmental resources and use monthly financial reports to monitor profitability, productivity, and customer service levels.
• Sales & Customer Service: Create and execute sales, merchandising, and advertising plans; handle customer complaints professionally; and ensure warranty work complies with guidelines.
• Operational Efficiency: Conduct regular team briefings, ensure high standards for premises and equipment, and train Parts colleagues on Service Reception duties.
