Job summary

Osborne Appointments is seeking a Service & Installation Engineer to cover site installations and service calls in the UK and overseas. The role is based in Sandy with a 39 hour week and a salary of £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

You will install, commission, service, and maintain specialist processing equipment, diagnose faults, and travel as required. A passport and full UK driving licence are essential. An attractive benefits package accompanies this role.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding experience in manufacturing, machinery, maintenance or installation environments.
• Experience carrying out equipment installation, commissioning, servicing or field service activities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and maintain specialist processing equipment across customer sites in the UK and overseas.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise customer downtime.
• Provide professional on-site technical support and build strong customer relationships.
• Support equipment refurbishment, repairs and workshop-based activities when not travelling.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold high safety and quality standards.

Job description

Role: Service & Installation Engineer

Location: Sandy

Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hour week

Salary: £45,000 per annum, depending on experience

OA are working with a client within the food manufacturing industry and are looking to hire for an experienced Service & Installation Engineer.

As Multi-skilled Service Engineer you will be required to cover site installations and service break downs working in the Food Processing sector both in the UK and overseas, so a passport is essential!

Duties of a Service & Installation Engineer:

• Install, commission, service and maintain specialist processing equipment across customer sites in the UK and overseas.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise customer downtime.
• Provide professional on-site technical support and build strong customer relationships.
• Support equipment refurbishment, repairs, and workshop-based engineering activities when not travelling.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold high standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.

What we would like from you:

• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding experience within a manufacturing, machinery, maintenance, or installation environment.
• Previous experience carrying out equipment installation, commissioning, servicing, or field service engineering activities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Engineering apprenticeship, City & Guilds qualification, HNC/HND, or equivalent engineering background desirable.
• PLC and HMI knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential as training can be provided.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends and customer shutdown periods.
