Job summary

Computerworld Personnel Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Service Engineer to service and maintain high speed conveyor systems across the UK, including on-site inspections, surveys, planned maintenance, some installations and customer training.

The role requires you to travel from home to client sites, perform fault finding, provide on-site support, and produce timely reports. NVQ level 3 or equivalent mechanical qualification is preferred, with strong diagnostics and travel readiness.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical skills on gears, bearings, shafts, belts, etc.
• NVQ Level 3 mechanical qualification or equivalent.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with material handling equipment and conveyors is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Travel from home to customer sites to service and perform PMs on conveyor-based systems.
• Provide high-level technical support onsite, troubleshoot, service and repair equipment.
• Provide onsite training for customers.
• Prepare report sheets detailing information in a timely manner.
• Work on vertical elevating equipment such as pallet hoists, boxlifters, and bucket elevators.
• Cover the UK with regular stays away and occasional weekend/night work.

They now require an additional Mechanical Service Engineer to provide exceptional service to their client base throughout the UK. You will be required to perform on-site inspections, site surveys, Planned maintenance and service, with some installations and customer training. This is varied role and offers you the chance to work with a genuine market leader and work on some of the most advanced and exciting facilities in the UK.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Working from home, you will travel to customer sites and undertake the service and ppm's on high speed conveyor based systems.
• Provide high-level technical support and expertise onsite for the customer along with any trouble shooting, service and repair of machinery and equipment
• Provide onsite training for customers
• Prepare report sheets with detailing information in a timely manner
• Work on a variety of vertical elevating equipment such as, pallet hoists, boxlifters, and bucket elevators.
• Covering the whole of the UK with regular stay away and occasional weekend and night work

Knowledge, Skills, and experience

• Strong Mechanical skills e.g. experience on gears, bearings, shafts, belts etc
• Mechanically qualified, at least to NVQ level 3
• Excellent fault finding and problem-solving ability
• Experience working on material handling equipment and conveyor systems would be beneficial
• The role would suit an Engineer seeking an autonomous and varied role with plenty of travel to a broad range of customer sites
