Job summary

Proactive Technical Limited is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with a Mechanical Bias to join our mobile engineering team, supporting automated equipment across customer sites throughout the UK. The role suits engineers who enjoy travelling, working independently, and servicing conveyors, materials handling and automated systems, with on-site visits and a strong focus on safety.

You will be paid from the moment you leave home with significant overtime, and a company van is provided

Qualifications

• Minimum ONC or equivalent Mechanical/Maintenance qualification.
• Electrical qualification/knowledge.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Comfortable travelling to customer sites across the UK.
• Experience with conveyors, automation or materials handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on automated equipment.
• Attend emergency breakdowns and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Repair and maintain conveyors, materials handling and automated systems.
• Complete scheduled servicing in line with manufacturer recommendations.
• Accurately record all maintenance and repair work.
• Participate in a 1-in-3 on-call rota.
• Identify opportunities for equipment improvements and increased reliability.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality.
• Provide a professional service when attending customer sites.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer with a Mechanical Bias to join a mobile engineering team supporting automated equipment across customer sites throughout the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being on the road, working independently and dealing with a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment within automated, materials handling and conveyor systems.

You will be paid from the moment you leave home, with significant overtime earning.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on automated equipment.
• Attend emergency breakdowns and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Repair and maintain conveyors, materials handling and automated systems.

What We're Looking For

• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Electrical knowledge and practical fault-finding ability.
• Ideally experienced with conveyors, automation or materials handling equipment.
• Candidates from automated warehousing, FMCG, manufacturing, automotive or aerospace environments will also be considered.
• Minimum ONC or equivalent Mechanical/Maintenance qualification.
• Electrical qualification/knowledge.
• Knowledge of LOLER regulations would be advantageous.
• LEEA Part 1 would be desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Comfortable travelling to customer sites across the UK.

Package

• Circa £45,000 basic salary
• OTE £70,000+
