Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an experienced Service Engineer with a background in machining or precision engineering to install, commission and service advanced high-precision manufacturing systems across customer sites in the UK.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical and software issues, perform planned and reactive maintenance, and provide specialist customer training as part of a national service team.

Qualifications

• Background in machining, CNC, precision engineering, automation or similar.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, or servicing capital equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Confident in production/manufacturing environments.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Full driving licence, passport, and willingness for overnight stays in the UK; training in Switzerland possible.

LOCATION: Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckhinghamshire : based, with regional and national travel as required (5 days on the road per week).

As our Service Engineer, you will join an established and experienced national team. Your first 6 months will be spent training, learning on the job, and shadowing a colleague until you are competent and ready to work solo.

Role

• A A background in machining, CNC, precision engineering, automation or similar.
• A Hands:on experience installing, maintaining, or servicing capital equipment.
• A Strong mechanical and electrical fault:finding skills.
• A Confidence working in production / manufacturing environments.
• A Excellent communication and customer facing skills.
• A A full driving licence, passport, and flexible to conduct overnight stays in the UK, and skills training in Switzerland (or occasional overseas work).
• A Confident communication, with the adaptability to engage at all levels.
• A A methodical approach with the ability to work independently, manage your time, and deliver accurate results.
