Job summary

Major Recruitment North West Perms is seeking a Service Engineer for heavy plant and road-rail equipment, based mainly in the Thornton Cleveleys workshop. The role covers diagnosing, repairing and upgrading machinery, with potential involvement in new builds and on-site support.

You will use drawings and schematics to investigate faults, perform routine servicing, and comply with rail industry safety and quality standards. NVQ3 in Engineering and 2+ years’ relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
• At least two years' relevant experience with heavy plant or rail-related equipment.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Service and maintain excavators and other heavy plant.
• Fit modifications, upgrades and safety systems.
• Assemble, test and support new machinery builds.
• Use technical drawings and schematics to investigate faults.
• Complete work to the safety and quality standards required in the rail industry.
