Automation Experts in the Midlands is seeking two multi-skilled Service Engineers with an electrical/electronic bias to install, commission and maintain high-speed precision machinery across the UK.

You will split time between on-site customer support and in-house engineering, with comprehensive training and clear progression. A company vehicle, paid overtime and healthcare accompany the package. Travel 2–3 nights weekly. Commutable from Shrewsbury, Telford and nearby areas.

Qualifications

• Experienced field service engineer in electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience with high-speed machinery and precision equipment.
• Strong electrical/electronic fault finding and PLC knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Install, commission, service and maintain high-speed precision machinery.
• Perform mechanical repairs, rebuilds and upgrades to tight tolerances.
• Diagnose faults in three‑phase electrics, motors and relays.
• Deliver preventative and reactive maintenance on site and in-house.
• Provide customer training and technical support.
• Travel UK and Ireland; typically 2–3 overnight stays per week.
• Lead service projects from assessment to completion within time and budget.
• Collaborate with service, sales and management to tailor solutions.

Two skilled machinery Service Engineers with solid electrical/electronic bias immediately sought for a Midlands based business as they continue to expand.

You will be working with high-speed, high-precision machinery in a varied role combining field-based customer support with in-house engineering, offering the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge through comprehensive training.

The Role:

• Install, commission, service and maintain high-speed precision machinery and ancillary equipment.
• Carry out mechanical repairs, rebuilds and upgrades, working to tight engineering tolerances.
• Undertake electrical and electronic fault finding, repairs and modifications to PC-controlled systems, PLCs and inverters.
• Diagnose faults across three-phase electrics, motors, relay logic and older machinery.
• Deliver preventative and reactive maintenance, both on customer sites and in-house.
• Provide technical support and training to customers.
• Travel throughout the UK and Ireland, with overnight stays expected on average 2-3 nights per week
• Manage service projects from initial assessment through to completion, ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.
• Work closely with service, sales and management teams to identify customer requirements and develop bespoke engineering solutions.

The Person:

• Experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong electro-mechanical skill set.
• Confident working across both mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.
• Experienced with the service, installation & repair of special purpose machinery - machine tool background ideal
• Strong mechanical repair and rebuild experience
• Capable of electrical/electronic fault finding, including PLCs, inverters, three-phase systems and motors.
• Experience diagnosing faults on older machinery, including relay logic, would be beneficial.
• Good customer-facing and communication skills.
• Commercially aware, with an understanding of customer requirements and opportunities to develop additional business.
• Proactive, flexible and able to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
• Willing to travel throughout the UK and overseas, with a valid UK passport.
