Job summary

Personnel Selection are partnering with an SME Engineering business in Rotherham to recruit a permanent Service Supervisor. The role offers up to £42k, private pension, and training, with weekend work rarely required.

You will lead a workshop team, service and refurbish hire fleet equipment, and ensure safety and reliability. Ideal candidates have strong mechanical skills in hydraulics and engines, a full driving license, and proven supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with hydraulics, diesel engines or plant equipment.
• Experience in service and repair of industrial or hire fleet equipment.
• Must have a full driving license and be willing to travel/off-site work.
• Experience in supervisory or team-leader roles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service, repair, fault finding and refurbishment of hire fleet equipment.
• Prepare and inspect units before and after hire, ensuring reliability and safety.
• Lead by example in the workshop, setting quality standards.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic and engine faults.

Personnel Selection are pleased to be working alongside this fantast SME Engineering business, with a depot in Rotherham. We are recruiting for a Service Supervisor on a permanent and full time basis.

Package:

• Salary up to £42k (dependent on experience)

• Opportunity to step into a key senior technical role within a growing hire operation

The ideal person has a strong mechanical background (hydraulics, diesel engines, plant or similar) and proven experience in the service and repair of industrial or plant equipment. You must have a full driving license, as there will be some off-site work involved.

We are looking for someone who is committed to providing their customers with an excellent service, so the ability to communicate effectively is required.

This could be a great opportunity for someone with some experience in a supervisory / team leader role, looking for the opportunity to advance their career.

The role will include:
