Job summary

TipTopJob in the United Kingdom is seeking a Service Engineer to join a reputable hire company based in Northamptonshire. The role focuses on maintenance of lifting equipment and ensuring high standards of service for a long-standing client base.

You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, complete thorough documentation, and take ownership of equipment quality before it leaves the yard. Overtime is occasionally available and full training is provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ or City & Guilds in Engineering preferred; time served engineers are welcome.
• Experience with cranes or construction plant is desirable.
• Valid UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment in the yard.
• Ensure service activities are documented and meet safety standards.
• Ensure equipment leaving the yard is fit for purpose.
• Respond to breakdowns in yard and on-site, diagnosing and resolving issues quickly.
• Provide first-line technical support to internal teams and customers when required.
• Oversee stock control and advise on parts requirements.
• Assist with loading/unloading and safe storage of yard equipment.

Responsibilities Of The Role

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment within the yard.
• Ensure all service activities are accurately documented and meet Health and Safety standards.
• Take ownership of the quality of equipment leaving the yard, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
• Respond to breakdowns swiftly-both in the yard and on:site-diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
• When required, provide first:line technical support to internal teams and external customers.
• Oversee stock control, and advise on parts requirements.
• Support the loading/unloading and safe storage of yard equipment.

Requirements Of Role

• Ideally hold an NVQ or City and Guilds in Engineering, however time served engineers will also be strongly considered.
• Ideally have experience working on Cranes, Construction Plant, Agricultural Machinery or Forestry Equipment.
• Hold a Full UK driving license
