Job summary

ACS Performance Ltd is seeking a motivated Service Engineer in Hertford to install, service and maintain compressed air and vacuum equipment at customer sites. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs and provide excellent service while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and professional approach with good communication and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Willing to live within ~20 miles of Hertford and have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain compressed air and vacuum equipment and related systems.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Coordinate with Service Department to complete work efficiently and on schedule.
• Keep customers and colleagues updated on job progress.
• Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
• Identify opportunities for improvements or additional requirements and communicate them internally.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Carry out other duties as required.

Location: Hertford, England

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Service Engineer to join a growing engineering business based in Hertford. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems, and delivering outstanding customer service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining compressed air and vacuum equipment at customer sites, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while building strong working relationships with customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain compressed air and vacuum equipment, including associated systems.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Liaise with the Service Department to ensure work is completed efficiently and to schedule.
• Keep customers and colleagues updated on the progress of jobs.
• Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
• Identify opportunities for improvements or additional customer requirements and communicate these internally.
• Work in line with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
