Job summary

FläktGroup UK is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer to join our field-based team covering Essex or Hertfordshire and supporting a wide portfolio of clients with both planned and reactive HVAC maintenance.

As part of the regional team you will attend client sites, perform PPMs, repairs, refurbishments and commissioning, and respond to call-outs within a 4-hour SLA.

You will guide apprentices, uphold safety standards and contribute to F Gas compliance using our digital tracking system.

Qualifications

• Qualified in refrigeration and air conditioning (e.g., City & Guilds 2079 or NVQ Level 2).
• F-Gas qualification (C&G 2079-11) is required.
• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Extensive air conditioning service experience with VRV/VRF/chillers.
• Strong fault-finding, good communication, and IT literacy (Excel/Word/Email).
• Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

As a key player in our field-based team, you’ll:

• Attend client sites to provide expert technical assistance and engineering support.

• Respond to emergency call-outs as part of a regional rota with 4-hour SLA response times.
• Prepare on-site risk assessments to support a safe working environment.
• Spot service enhancement opportunities and pass on sales leads.
• Support and guide apprentices and trainees in their development.
• Contribute to the upkeep of F Gas compliance using our digital tracking system.

What You Bring

We’re looking for a hands-on expert who’s proactive, professional, and always focused on delivering top-quality service.

• City & Guilds 2079 or NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• F-Gas Qualification (C&G 2079-11)
• Full UK driving licence
• Extensive A/C service experience, including VRV, VRF, chillers, splits & close control systems.
• Strong fault-finding ability and excellent communication skills.
• Confidence working independently with solid IT knowledge (Excel, Word, email, databases).
• The postholder will be required to complete security checks, obtain a clear enhanced DBS, and other clearances as necessary.

Bonus Points For

• PASMA / MEWP certification.
• Geographic familiarity with your region.
• Manual handling and Safe Pass training.
