Pure Talent Group is seeking an electrically biased Field Service Engineer to install, service and repair automated machinery at manufacturing sites in the North East of England.

You will commission new equipment, diagnose faults on PLC-controlled systems, and carry out planned servicing and breakdown repairs across electrical, mechanical and control systems. A full driving licence is required, with some travel including overseas travel possible.

Formación

• Electrical/electromechanical qualification with time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Strong fault-finding on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with PLCs and automation.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel (incl. overseas travel).

Responsabilidades

• Install and commission industrial machinery, then train customer teams on its operation.
• Carry out planned servicing and breakdown repairs across electrical, mechanical and control systems.
• Diagnose faults involving PLC-controlled equipment, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Keep service records up to date and explain findings and recommended repairs to customers.
• Join a one-in-seven out-of-hours rota once you’re confident working on the equipment.

We are looking for an electrically biased Field Service Engineer to install, service and repair automated machinery at manufacturing sites. One day you might be commissioning new equipment and showing operators how to use it. The next, you could be tracing a controls fault and getting a machine back into production.

What you ll be doing

• Install and commission industrial machinery, then train customer teams on its operation.
• Carry out planned servicing and breakdown repairs across electrical, mechanical and control systems.
• Diagnose faults involving PLC-controlled equipment, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Keep service records up to date and explain your findings and recommended repairs to customers.
• Join a one-in-seven out-of-hours rota once you re confident working on the equipment.

What you ll need

• A City & Guilds or similar electrical or electromechanical engineering qualification, plus a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, with confidence working on single-phase, three-phase and low-voltage systems.
• A good understanding of PLCs and automation, plus working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• A full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively, with some overseas travel possible.

Experience with materials handling, pneumatic conveying or process cooling equipment would be an advantage.
