Job summary

AMF Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Service Engineer for the Dewsbury area (base). The role is permanent and involves routine and emergency maintenance of electrical forklifts across the Yorkshire and Humber region, onsite at customer premises.

You will service and repair forklifts, diagnose faults, and complete reports on a PDA system. A 40-hour week (8am–4:30pm) with overtime paid at time and a half, plus a bonus scheme and company van.

Qualifications

• Experience with forklift servicing is preferred but not essential.
• Electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude.
• Organised, methodical and able to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work on customer sites in Yorkshire and Humber.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing forklifts as directed by the Service Manager.
• Diagnosing faults with a customer-focused approach.
• Completing service reports on a PDA system for each job.
• Occasional reporting to the Service Manager.

My client is a leading and fast-growing provider of maintenance support, services and hire of electrical forklifts to commercial industry and business. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Engineer to provide routine and emergency maintenance, service and support in the Yorkshire and Humber region, onsite at customer premises.

Duties Include:

• Servicing and repair as directed by the Service Manager.
• Diagnosing the exact nature of each query and repair with a friendly, efficient, ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Completing a service report for each job on a PDA system.
• Reporting to the Service Manager.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Experience with Forktrucks (Desirable but not essential).
• Confident Electrical knowledge.
• City & Guilds in mechanics or equivalent qualification is ideal but not essential, this could be time served
• Be well-organised, methodical and process-driven.
• Ability to think outside the box, adept at finding solutions.
• Good at managing own workload and able to cope with pressure.
• Present a professional image - be trustworthy, punctual and polite.
• Good team player.

Whilst it would be ideal for applicants to have experience of servicing and maintaining forktrucks, we welcome applicants with experience of mechanical and electrical engineering with some fault disgnostics experience.

This is a permanent position where you will work a standard 40 hour week (8am - 4:30)

In return you can expect a base salary of £34320 (£16.50p/h), rising to £36400 (£17.50 p/h) after successful completion of a 6 month probation. On top of this, any overtime is paid at time and a half, there is a bonus scheme and company van.
