Job summary

Groomfield Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Service Engineer to join a client team based in Aldridge, West Midlands. You will service and maintain forklift trucks at customer sites, working from the Aldridge base and covering local travel. The role requires experience with mechanical and electrical systems, fault diagnosis and repair, and a full UK driving licence.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm. Salary £35,000 per annum, with door-to-door travel paid.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Plant Engineer, Forklift Engineer or similar.
• Experience working with mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Electrical experience is essential.
• Good mechanical knowledge and practical engineering skills.
• Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on forklift trucks.
• Complete routine servicing, including oil changes, filter changes and general maintenance.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out inspections and identify potential issues before they become major faults.
• Ensure all servicing and repair work is completed to a high standard.
• Complete service reports and relevant maintenance documentation.
• Travel to customer sites as required to carry out servicing and maintenance.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.
• Provide a professional and reliable service to customers.
