Job summary

Selwood Limited in Bedford is seeking a Service Electrician to service and maintain pumping equipment on customer sites. You will inspect, test, fault-find and carry out planned maintenance to keep installations compliant with BS7671 and industry standards.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations, JIB/ECS Gold card, 2391/2392, a UK driving licence and the ability to travel. You will work independently at various sites, keeping accurate records and delivering a high standard of

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or Electrical Maintenance (or equivalent).
• JIB Qualified Electrician and ECS Gold card (18th edition).
• 2391/2392 City and Guilds qualification for inspections and testing.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel regularly.
• Experience as an electrician in similar industries.
• Strong electrical fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of electrical compliance and inspection requirements.
• Ability to work independently on customer sites.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Accurate documentation and reporting.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and service electrical components of pumping equipment.
• Plan and coordinate servicing and inspection activities with customers.
• Ensure site access, RAMS and customer documentation are prepared.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities and compliance.
• Perform periodic inspection and testing to BS7671 and BS7430.
• Fault finding and diagnostics on pumps, motors, control panels and inverters.
• Record servicing, inspections and maintenance schedules in company systems.
• Maintain excellent customer relations and act as company ambassador on site.
• Travel to planned site appointments and attend branches as required.
• Carry out other duties as requested by line manager.
