Job description

Job Title: Service Development Officer
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £36,252 (£40,067 is achieved after 12 months successful performance in the role)
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, full time
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Location: North Reg Hub, Carlisle

The difference you will make as a Service Development Officer

You will support the Income Excellence Lead with service developments to improve income management and collection rates for Riverside. This includes service developments to social housing and homeowner debt recovery processes.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Provides coordination and oversight of our Quality Assurance System and other audit tools.
  • Produces timely and accurate performance information and reports to, and for use by, managers, panels/forums, and customer groups.
  • Works as part of the Service Development Team to ensure that monitoring systems are in place to carry out effective audit, analysis and evaluation of services.
  • Carries out detailed audits of services and is able to draw out any quality, compliance, staffing, risk or other performance issues. Develops reports as a result of audits that communicate risks, analysis, insights and recommendations.
  • Provides business reports with insightful analysis covering a range of business-critical activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Up to date knowledge of legislation, regulation and standards relation to social housing and income collection across all tenure types.
  • A strong understanding of Universal Credit and welfare reforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to present to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines, managing conflicting priorities.
  • Attention to detail and outcome focused.
  • Excellence analytical skills and the ability to use data to provide meaningful management information to drive business decisions.
  • Proven track record of effective stakeholders’ engagement both internally and externally.
  • Excellent IT skills MS365 systems and income collection software.
  • Customer focused and lives the Riverside Values.
  • Proven track record of delivering continuous improvements to performance and service development.

Additional Information

  • The Group has offices across the UK and on this basis, there will be the requirement to travel to other locations to effectively perform this role. The role holder must hold a valid UK driving license.
  • The role will be exposed to sensitive information; therefore, the role holder is expected to maintain levels of confidentiality at all times and adhere to our data governance principles and procedures and schedule of delegated authority.
  • In order to fulfil the requirements of this role, you will be required to work flexibly during the hours of operation. This role is classified as hybrid.
