Job summary

The Lister Hospital in Stevenage is recruiting for an IT Support / Service Desk role. You will perform first level diagnostic procedures, offer telephone guidance, and forward calls to appropriate IT staff. You will also help maintain IT equipment records and support the Service Desk with on-call coverage.

Key duties include producing reports, handling incident documentation, and assisting with procurement and admin tasks in a busy Trust environment.

Qualifications

• It experience in IT support with a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to prioritise and triage telephone calls using own initiative.
• Experience working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
• Experience liaising with suppliers, colleagues and IT users.
• Knowledge of IT service desk environments and basic incident handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide reports and statistics for management on service desk activity.
• Maintain a configuration database of Trust IT equipment and keep data up to date.
• Provide cover for the Service Desk with colleagues.
• Assist with general IT office administration.
• Distribute departmental procurement documents and maintain incident reporting.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rota and out-of-hours on-site rota as required.
