Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Services Cost Officer in Derby to join the Trent Fleet and Mature Engines Value Stream. You will define a robust cost strategy, baseline cost assumptions for current and future work, and assess the business impact of cost-reduction proposals on Trent 1000/7000.

As part of a global, cross‑functional team, you will develop business cases, support strategy, and forecast financial performance to enable availability, cost control and enhanced value across the engine fleet.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a numerate or business discipline, or experience in business, finance or engineering.
• Innovative thinking and a drive to solve problems with accountability.
• Financial management, commercial acumen and decision‑making skills, comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
• Highly analytical and able to interpret data and complete data modelling using Microsoft Excel.
• Able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across diverse and global teams.
• Aerospace industry knowledge is advantageous but not essential.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join the Trent Fleet and Mature Engines Value Stream as a Services Cost Officer.

As the Cost Policy Officer - Trent 1000/7000, you will work on defining a robust cost strategy roadmap and policies, baseline cost assumptions for both existing and future business as well as evaluating the business impact of cost reduction proposals. These underpin the profitability of the Trent 1000/7000 so have a direct impact on our business performance.

With over 600 aircraft in service and a growing orderbook of aircraft, the Trent 1000/7000 Value Stream covers the full breadth of activity of those engines in service and provides a unique opportunity to develop business breadth across the lifecycle of an engine.

What you will be doing:

Develop a thorough understanding of the levers of value inherent in our business, and through these own and drive the financial performance of our fleets.

Support development of Business Cases & Strategy to support key product change and deliver Business Plan objectives.

Responsibility for analysing and forecasting financial information to support development and improvement of our financial forecasts.

Develop, deploy, and support functional processes, tools, training, and systems that enable the creation of credible plans that balance availability, cost, and performance.

Preferred requirements:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a numerate or business discipline or will have business, finance or engineering experience.
• Innovative thinking and a drive to solve problems and take accountability.
• Financial management, commercial acumen and decision‑making skills, comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
• Highly analytical and able to interpret data and complete data modelling using Microsoft Excel.
