Job summary

Veolia Group is recruiting for a Transport Service Coordinator in Cardiff. The role focuses on day-to-day service delivery, coordinating vehicle routes, and maintaining communications with customers and drivers to ensure smooth operations.

You will conduct driver debriefs, report actions required, and support route issues on-site. A strong grasp of transport compliance and IT tools will help you excel in this busy environment.

Qualifications

  • Essential: understanding of transport compliance and WTD
  • Good communication with drivers, frontline staff and customers
  • Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at pace
  • Experience with quality management systems e.g. ISO
  • Strong IT skills and ability to use Google Workspace
  • Desirable: prior experience in waste/transport/logistics

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of service delivery and dynamic allocation of work to vehicles/routes
  • Communicate with customers and stakeholders, provide updates and keep drivers informed
  • Complete debriefs with frontline staff and report actions or updates
  • Engage face-to-face with drivers to address route issues
  • Report safety concerns or container damage and stop work if unsafe
  • Ensure Veolia on-site compliance with WTD, O-licence and transport rules

What you’ll be doing
  • Day-to-day management of service delivery, including the dynamic allocation of work to vehicles/routes
  • Communicating with customers and stakeholders, providing status updates and maintaining contact with drivers
  • Completing debriefs with front line staff and reporting necessary actions or updates as required
  • Face-to-face engagement with drivers, supporting them to address any issues on route
  • Reporting of all safety concerns or container damage and encouraging ‘stop the job’ if it is deemed unsafe to continue
  • Ensuring Veolia legal compliance on-site (WTD, O’licence and transport compliance)
What we’re looking for
  • Essential: Able to demonstrate an understanding of transport compliance and WTD
  • Good communication skills communicating with people of all levels including drivers, frontline employees and customers
  • Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at a fast pace
  • Working with a quality management system e.g. ISO
  • Managing transport compliance.
  • Experienced IT Skills, and the ability to adapt to Google operating systems
  • Desirable: Previous experience operating within a similar industry; waste/transport/logistics
