Housing Solutions is seeking a Service Charge Assistant to join our Finance team. You will support accurate, timely and compliant service charge accounting, preparing annual estimates and year-end statements while maintaining resident data and cost allocations.

You will review invoices and contracts, manage data, prepare working papers and respond to routine inquiries. The role involves month-end processes and using Excel, Xledger and reporting tools to strengthen financial controls.

Qualifikationen

• You will have an AAT qualification, another relevant finance qualification, or equivalent practical accounting experience.
• Experience of processing financial transactions, completing reconciliations or maintaining accounting records.
• Confidence using spreadsheets and working accurately with detailed data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Summary

About The Role

We are looking for a Service Charge Assistant to join our Finance team and support the accurate, timely and compliant delivery of service charge accounting. Working closely with the Service Charge Accountant and colleagues across the organisation, you will help prepare annual estimates and year-end actual statements, process and reconcile service charge transactions, and maintain accurate property, scheme, apportionment and resident data.

You will review invoices, contracts, cost allocations and managing agent information, prepare clear working papers and audit trails, and provide timely responses to routine service charge enquiries. You will also contribute to month-end and year-end processes, reporting, audit activity and service improvements, using Excel, Xledger, housing systems and reporting tools to support strong financial controls and high-quality customer service.

Essential requirements

About youYou will have an AAT qualification, another relevant finance qualification, or equivalent practical accounting experience. You will bring experience of processing financial transactions, completing reconciliations or maintaining accounting records, together with confidence using spreadsheets and working accurately with detailed data. Experience of responding to enquiries and collaborating with colleagues or customers is also important.You will be numerate, analytical and highly organised, with strong attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication skills. You will be comfortable following legislation, regulatory requirements, policies and controls, managing recurring deadlines and building effective relationships across Finance, Home Ownership, Housing, Property Services and Asset Management.
