Job summary

Oxford Nanopore Technologies seeks a Development Scientist to join the Sequencing Development Team in Oxford, UK. The role balances office-based analysis with hands-on laboratory work to advance sequencing devices, kits and flow cells.

You will help integrate hardware, software and chemistry while improving performance and reliability, feeding back issues to multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a relevant physical/biological field.
• Lab Skills: Basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, thermocyclers).
• Technical Knowledge: Linux, Python, and iPython notebooks.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication within a multidisciplinary team.
• Soft Skills: Attention to detail, highly organized, problem-solving skills.
• Desirable: Cell/blood extraction experience.
• Growth Mindset: Willingness to learn; comprehensive training provided.

Responsibilities
