Job summary

First Steps Together is seeking an experienced Sensory Teacher to join the team at Kershaw Wood Manchester, supporting pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2 with SEND and complex needs. You will deliver a sensory-led curriculum and work closely with families and specialists to tailor learning experiences.

You will plan personalised lessons, observe progress, and lead Teaching Assistants to ensure a calm, structured, sensory-aware classroom that fosters communication and independence for every pupil.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND and complex or profound learning needs
• Knowledge of sensory curriculum and sensory-led learning
• Willing to undertake sensory curriculum training

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and develop a personalised Sensory Curriculum aligned to EHCP outcomes
• Design sensory learning experiences to promote engagement, communication and independence
• Observe and assess progress across engagement, regulation, cognition and independence
• Lead Teaching Assistants and collaborate with families and therapists to embed strategies
