Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group in the UK is seeking a highly skilled z/OS MQ engineer to join our mainframe messaging team. You will provide expert technical support, shape the roadmap, and help modernise services while delivering resilient, secure mainframe solutions across the group.

You will collaborate with middleware, infrastructure and engineering teams, work within a hybrid pattern, and participate in out-of-hours support when required to ensure service excellence.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of MQ on z/OS and its environments.
• Strong experience tuning MQ performance and diagnosing issues.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting business-critical online systems.
• Experience with Transport Layer Security (TLS).
• Interest in innovation, automation and modern mainframe technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and support for complex MQ environments meeting demanding SLAs.
• Shape the strategic roadmap for z/OS MQ and the platform’s future direction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive the technology roadmap and outcomes.
• Promote automation, DevOps and continuous improvement in MQ services.
• Integrate mainframe MQ with emerging platforms and capabilities.
• Ensure standardisation and operational excellence across teams.
