Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Specialist (z Mainframe Db2 DBA) to deliver advanced mainframe Db2 support and drive the zDBA roadmap. The role covers design, optimization, and cross-team collaboration to ensure high-availability services across the mainframe estate.

You will operate in a hybrid model, with Edinburgh or Manchester as locations, and will participate in out-of-hours work as required to maintain service levels.

Qualifications

• Extensive Db2 on z/OS expertise.
• Expert-level Db2 performance monitoring and SQL tuning.
• Experience governing DDL changes and schema evolution.
• Experience leading resolution of critical on-line systems.
• Proven ability to communicate complex concepts to senior leadership.
• Experience coaching junior Db2 engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for complex mainframe environments to tight timescales.
• Drive strategy and design across mainframe development and test estate.
• Own and drive the zDBA technology roadmap with stakeholders.
• Implement standardisation and drive improvement in the team.
• Collaborate with Lab and Platform teams to implement process initiatives.
• Ensure processes, governance and procedures are rigorously applied.
