Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is modernising through cloud technology, building secure, resilient platforms for engineering teams. We seek an IBM MQ Infrastructure Specialist to lead middleware services across our Private Cloud estate, combining hands-on engineering with containerisation and automation.

You’ll join an established Middleware Engineering team, drive secure deployment, and mentor colleagues while collaborating with senior leaders to elevate engineering standards across the platform.

Qualifications

• Deep IBM MQ architecture knowledge and distributed messaging
• Experience securing MQ with TLS, certificates and auth
• Troubleshooting complex infra, performance and connectivity issues
• Experience across MQ lifecycle from design to upgrades
• Understanding of security, risk and operational controls across teams

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of IBM MQ and middleware on VMware/OpenShift
• Apply platform engineering and everything-as-code practices (CI/CD)
• Act as middleware technical authority with stakeholders and leaders
• Champion automation, resilience, observability and security-by-design
• Mentor colleagues and raise engineering standards across the Private Cloud platform
