Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) in Belfast is seeking a Senior Youth Worker 1 (Specialism - Local) to manage youth work programmes across the designated area, in line with EA policies.

You will develop annual action plans, engage young people, work with advisory committees, and lead staff to deliver impactful youth initiatives. The role requires fundraising and collaboration with partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified Youth Worker in accordance with the JNC Report for Youth Workers.
• Minimum of two years’ post-qualifying experience managing a Youth Centre or Youth Project.
• Minimum of two years’ experience managing youth work staff.
• Demonstrable experience of managing youth work projects across a range of settings.
• Knowledge of information technology systems including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Manage youth work programmes across the designated area in line with EA policies.
• Develop an Annual Action Plan and contribute to Area and Youth Service plans.
• Ensure active participation of young people in programmes and area management.
• Monitor and evaluate work programmes with advisory committee input.
• Engage with advisers/line manager and act as advocate for young people.
• Promote inter-community activities and partnerships with agencies.
