Job summary

Garmin (Europe) Limited in the United Kingdom seeks an IT Administrator to lead administration of technology, researching new technologies and proposing cost-effective solutions. You'll mentor junior admins and participate in major incident troubleshooting.

You will design and develop complex server solutions, ensure SOX/PCI compliance, and communicate changes. A BS in CS or related field is required, with scripting ability to automate tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in computer science or IT.
• Ability to author and implement basic scripting to automate technical needs.
• Strong communication skills in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin’s Windows server computing systems.
• Windows Azure Local Hypervisor deployment and troubleshooting experience.
• Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for small to large projects to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Provides 24x7 on-call support as part of a shared rota.
• Continuously develop technical subject matter expertise on server, storage, email, file, and collaboration systems.
