Job summary

Garmin in Southampton is seeking a Lead Windows Server Administrator to join our IT team on-site. The role focuses on leading server administration, researching new technologies, and proposing cost-effective solutions to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Degree and/or experience in a related IT field.
• Ability to author and implement basic scripting to automate technical needs.
• Strong communication skills in a small team setting.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin’s Windows server computing systems.
• Windows Azure Local Hypervisor deployment and troubleshooting experience.
• Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for small to large projects to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Measures feasibility and recommends approaches for server, storage, email, file, and collaboration systems.
• Ensures security requirements are met and SOX/PCI compliance where applicable.
• Mentors IT Administrators and leads change as a department leader.
