Job summary

Spectrum It Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Windows Server Administrator for an office-based role in Southampton. You will be the go-to escalation point for complex Wintel infrastructure issues and drive deep technical troubleshooting beyond routine tasks.

The role includes supporting a move from VMware towards Azure Local, with broader infrastructure integration across new sites and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Windows Server environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to investigate issues using event logs.
• Solid understanding of AD, GPO, replication, certificates and infrastructure dependencies.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V or Azure Local is a plus.
• Experience with Citrix, SCCM/MECM, Exchange, Thycotic, Zabbix or other enterprise monitoring tools is beneficial.
• Experience working in Agile environments is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel within Europe as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting across Windows Server environments.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
• Support projects involving virtualization and hyper-converged infrastructure.
• Contribute to move from VMware towards Azure Local.
• Work across server, storage, file, email and collaboration systems.
• Help define technical priorities, improvements and roadmap activity.
• Mentor other IT Administrators within the team.
• Support security, resilience, capacity and regulatory requirements.
• Research new technologies and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
